1. Introduction

FitWithPaws ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, display, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application and web platform FitWithPaws (the "App"). By using FitWithPaws, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: email address used to create your account.
  • Health & fitness data: weight records, heart rate (BPM), calories burned, and other biometric data recorded during walks or workouts — captured via Apple Watch and displayed in the App.
  • Walk & activity data: walk distance (km/miles), elevation (meters), walk duration, average and maximum speed, and step counts that you generate during walks with your pets.
  • Location & GPS data: GPS coordinates captured during walks to generate your route map. This data is stored and displayed to you in the walk detail screen. We do not share your location with third parties.
  • Pet information: pet names, types, breeds, birth dates, and photos you upload.
  • Device data: Apple Watch connectivity status and sensor data used for walk tracking and syncing.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the App's core functionality, including walk tracking and wellness monitoring.
  • Display your personal health and activity metrics (heart rate, distance, route map, duration, speed) back to you within your account.
  • Sync your data across your Apple devices and the FitWithPaws web platform.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Improve the App experience over time using anonymized, aggregated usage patterns.

4. Data Storage & Security

All your data — including health metrics, GPS routes, and activity records — is stored securely using Supabase cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. GPS route coordinates and heart rate data are stored only for your account and are never shared with or sold to third parties. You may request deletion of all your data at any time.

5. Photos

Pet photos you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage and are only accessible to your account. We do not use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them within your account.

6. Location & GPS Data

FitWithPaws captures GPS location data during walks to generate a visual route map shown exclusively to you in the walk detail view. Location data is only recorded when you initiate a walk from the Apple Watch app. We do not track your location in the background, outside of active walk sessions, and we do not share your GPS data with any third party.

7. Apple Watch & Health Sensors

FitWithPaws uses Apple Watch sensors to capture heart rate, distance, elevation, calories, and GPS during walks. This data is synced to your account and displayed in the App. FitWithPaws does not currently write data to the Apple Health app. If this changes in a future version, this policy will be updated and you will be notified.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access all personal data we hold about you, including health metrics and GPS routes.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data, including walk history, GPS routes, and health records.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, especially as new features are added to the App. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
